Welcome to my art classes where you’ll find creativity, self expression and inspiration.
Small class sizes allow for the best possible experience for each student.
Absolutely all levels are welcome from complete beginners to those with some experience.
“Allow yourself to be a beginner. No one starts off being excellent”
Here within the enjoyable and supportive atmosphere of the class you’ll find an opportunity to discover your own expressive style whatever your ability. You’ll be amazed by what you can achieve!
An exciting range of projects to inspire students to explore different media and ideas. Through the themes of still life, landscape, buildings, interiors, life drawing and portraiture, students will explore composition, colour, tone, perspective and proportions. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience.
As humans it is only natural that depicting our form should play and important role as subject matter. Built into this is the instinctive emotional response we experience when studying another person and many artists use this response in a dramatic, personal way to develop their own personal language. All welcome!
I’m delighted to announce that the studio based classes will resume from 26th April. Get in touch if you would like some more information on these and the courses for the summer.
Art Classes are held at:
29 Drumsheugh Gardens
Edinburgh, EH3 7RN
In the heart of Edinburgh’s West End
By bus: 19, 36, 37, 41, 43, 47
Claudia’s classes are hugely enjoyable. Lessons are a rewarding mix of hard work and fun. Claudia is always encouraging, criticism is constructive and full of ideas for improvement and her enthusiasm is infectious.
I have been attending Claudia’s art classes for two years now… What a difference she has made to my attitude and my art! The art classes with Claudia are the highlight of my week now!
Claudia has a gift for seeing your good points and gently showing you where you can improve. She imposes no particular style and encourages you to flourish in your own way. She is very good at pointing out different ways of looking at the subject and dispelling any timidity that you may have.
Firstly, thank you so much for your lovely support and encouragement on Saturday. I learned loads but, just as important, I really enjoyed it. You manage to create a fun relaxed atmosphere which is still challenging. Thank you.
You have a superb ability to bring out the best in everyone’s art work and to encourage the individuality of different approaches. I think you are one of the best teachers I’ve ever come across.
